Your First Few Minutes in Docsnap
A quick, step-by-step walkthrough to get you from download to your first organized records — and everything in between.
Before You Begin
You'll get set up fastest if you have these ready:
- An active Docsnap subscription (start on the Pricing page if you don't have one yet).
- The registration code emailed to you right after signing up.
- Your phone or tablet, plus any previous addresses and providers.
How to Set Up the Docsnap App
Follow along in order — each step builds on the last. It only takes a few minutes.
Download & open the app
Get Docsnap from the App Store or Google Play, then open it to begin. You can install it on your phone or tablet.
- Search “Docsnap” in your app store, or scan the QR code from your welcome email.
Log in with your code
On the login screen, tap “Login with Code” and enter the registration code we emailed you right after signup. No password to remember.
- Didn't get a code? Check your spam folder, or see the Support FAQ.
- The code is tied to the email you used at checkout.
Your registration code is emailed immediately after you purchase a subscription. If you haven't subscribed yet, start on the Pricing page.
Complete your profile
Add your previous addresses and your care team under your profile. This helps Docsnap find and match the most complete set of your medical records.
- Include every address where you've received care.
- Add providers and pharmacies you use regularly.
Let your records populate
Docsnap queries over 100,000 care venues on your behalf. Records can take a few hours to appear — it's completely normal to see an empty Records tab at first.
You don't need to keep the app open. We'll keep working in the background and your records will fill in over time.
Explore your Records
Open the Records tab to view your history by category, share records with providers or family, or tap the top-right icon for the full HTML view — great at the point of care.
- Tap any category to drill into specific records.
- Use “Share Records” to send them by text, email, or directly to a provider.
Add your family
Manage records for your whole household. Add a child by their birthday, or invite a family member over 18 by email so you can connect and share records.
- For children, add every parent's address and phone number for the most complete match.
Start a virtual visit
Open the Providers tab and select Virtual Health to connect with primary, urgent, or behavioral health providers 24/7 — no copay, included in your subscription.
- Choose who the visit is for, then follow the prompts to connect.
